Day 7 - Friday November 28, 2003

Since our holiday inn had a pool, Eran had to take a dip after we woke up.  After that we ate our free buffet breakfast and hit the beach.  We rented a motor boar and went riding on the red sea.  We banged into this huge ship that was anchored there.  After that I found a urinal with a port hole providing a nice view while I relieved myself.  Next we did some snorkeling in the red sea, but didn't really see many fish.  By this time the sun was starting to go down and we had to begin our journey back to Eran's place near Tel Aviv.  We were planning on taking the highway that runs along the Egyptian border and goes through the gaza strip to get back.  At the entrance to this road there was a sign that said you should not drive on this road alone, after dark, without a cell phone, or without a gun.  So we proceeded to enter the road.  It was in really bad shape and you could tell that it hadn't been maintained in a long time.  It originally had 2 lanes, but was worn down to only one.  After a while we reached an army barricade in the road.  The machine gun armed soldier told us we could continue down the road on our own, but he didn't recommend it.  So, we turned back and went the long way back to Eran's place.  After almost running out of gas in the middle of the desert at night we finally made it back.  I packed my stuff and we met up with some girl that Eran was flirting with on the phone at work.  After that we went to downtown Hertzelia and ate at some place that specialized in testicles and tongues and the like.  We met some girl outside and got her phone number.
