Left for London Wednesday night and
arrived Thursday morning. Since I can't sleep on planes, I was so tired
and wanted to crash at the hotel. We got to our hotel and the room wasn't
ready yet so we took a walk around Piccadilly Circus which is the name of the
big plaza where our hotel was located. Didn't find any elephants or lions
too, but we did find the Trocadero which is this huge multi-floor arcade and
entertainment place kind of like our Jillian's. After checking the place
out we took one of the famous red sightseeing tour buses and did a tour of
London. I was so tired I slept through half the tour, but we got to see
some nice views of London in the open air top floor of the double decker bus.
After this we went back to the hotel and got our room. Turns out our room
didn't have a bathroom and we had to share one with the rest of the floor.
Weird, even the hostels in Israel gave each room their own bathroom. Also,
the sinks had separate faucets for hot and cold water so you had two choices:
either freezing cold or scalding hot. So, I slept in the hotel for a few
hours and then we hit the London Eye which is the world's largest Ferris Wheel.
It gave us great aerial views of London. Next we walked along the Thames
river and took some pictures outside the Salvador Dali museum. Then we took
the metro to Coven Garden which is another plaza and did some people watching.
For dinner we had, what else, but Fish and Chips! We went to the Rock and
Sole Plaice and it was definitely the best fish and chips I ever had. Next
we went to Leicester Square and checked out the bright city women and the gift
shops. I also signed up to become a member at the Hard Rock casino.
It takes a day for them to approve your membership, then you can play in the
casino. |
